How does Career mode work in Long Season?
Career mode creates one player and follows the whole career: the minors at A, AA and AAA, the majors, and retirement, with milestones and a Hall of Fame case along the way.
Starting a career
Pick Career on the main menu or the Modes screen and create your player. The career begins in A ball and climbs through AA and AAA to the majors.
Your first decisions are the player you create and the career you set out to build. The game tracks the stat line at every stop of the climb.

The road through the minors
Moving up the ladder is the core loop. Performances at each level decide whether the next call comes, and the game tracks the stat line at every stop, from A through AA and AAA to the majors. Every game along the way is simulated pitch by pitch and produces a full box score, so the development story is built from real game results rather than dice rolls between levels.
Milestones and the Hall of Fame
Long careers chase the famous round numbers: 3000 hits for a batter or 300 wins for a pitcher. Career mode tracks those milestones, and they are reached through the same pitch by pitch simulation as every other game.
Retirement is not the end of the file, because a player becomes eligible for the Hall of Fame five years after retiring, and the game remembers the career that got there. If you would rather manage the club around a career instead of living one, the franchise mode guide covers that side.
