Can I replay real historical baseball seasons in Long Season?
Yes. Long Season includes real seasons from 1900 to 2019, built from public historical baseball statistics published in the Lahman baseball database, and Time Machine pits any two historical clubs against each other.
Replaying a historical season
The Historical option on the Modes screen lets you pick a season between 1900 and 2019 and replay it with the rosters and results of that era as a starting point. The rosters are built from public historical baseball statistics published in the Lahman baseball database, so the clubs are the recorded players of those past seasons.
Seeded random numbers make the games reproducible, and every game is simulated pitch by pitch to a full box score, so the season unfolds under your management rather than as a rerun of the recorded results.

Fantasy drafts from history
When you start a historical season you can run a fantasy draft from that season player pool instead of keeping the historical rosters, which reshuffles the league around your picks. It is a way to test what a rebuilt club from a past era could have done with the same talent distributed differently.
Time Machine matchups
Time Machine is the shorter version: choose any two historical clubs and pit them against each other in a single game you play live, or simulate a best of 3, 5 or 7 series. It answers the standing argument of which club from which era would beat which.
The daily version
If you want a small daily slice of the same idea, the daily challenge sets one preset matchup of two historical clubs each day, and a Home Run Derby mode runs eight sluggers from any historical season through a seeded bracket.
