What is the daily challenge in Long Season?
The daily challenge is one preset matchup of two historical clubs, chosen each day from eras between 1906 and 1931. You play that game pitch by pitch, and your progress is saved.
How it works
Each calendar day brings a new preset matchup between two historical clubs, drawn from the seasons between 1906 and 1931. The matchup comes from the date, so everyone gets the same game that day, and the game keeps a streak of consecutive days won.
Nothing to set up, no draft and no roster work: open the game, take the day matchup from the main menu, and play. The first decision is simply taking the field. It is the quickest way to see the pitch by pitch simulation on a fresh club.

Playing the day game
The game simulates pitch by pitch like every game in Long Season. Watch it on the 2D diamond or in the 3D broadcast style view with a scoreboard, and check the box score and win probability as the innings pass.
You can let the simulation run and manage the decisions, or take the field yourself and call the pitches and swings. Either way the game produces a full box score at the end.
Progress and saves
Your progress is saved, so a partially played challenge waits for you. Saves live in your own browser and are never sent to a server; the saves and offline guide covers exporting a backup.
If one day matchup leaves you wanting more from the same idea, the Time Machine pits any two historical clubs against each other in a single game or a series.
Why a daily matchup
A fixed daily game gives a short, complete slice of the simulation. Because the matchup is preset and identical for everyone, the interesting part is the managing: how you use a bullpen, when you steal, and when you pull a starter. Eras between 1906 and 1931 keep the rosters to the recorded players of those seasons.
